About nine months ago, a kid named Jack Blankenship graduated from high school and wrote on his personal blog a list of 10 things he wanted to do while in college.
The list looked mostly like a joke, including things such as “learn how to count” and “selling stuff on eBay”. But a few of them seemed simply impossible, making the list that much more ridiculous. However, two of them happened to be “make viral videos” and “Meet Conan O’Brien”.
He was just a kid making silly rap videos with his friends and posting them on YouTube. Once in college, he and his friends had an idea to become “distraction artists” at basketball games for the opposing team. Jack created a giant poster of his head making what has become known as “the face” which got the attention of ESPN, and has since spawned his first viral video, getting over a million views.
Somehow, he turned his new-found celebrity into appearances on TV shows, including one Conan O’Brien.
As it turns out, maybe it’s not that hard to make your dreams come true.
You just need to be in the right place at the right time (a little luck) and already doing something you love (hard work).
And I can’t wait to see what this kid does next.
